About Me

My  name is Larry Byrge. I first got into Astronomy in the winter of 2000 when I saw the  moon for the first time through my cousins small 60mm refractor telescope she got for  Christmas. I peeked  into the eyepiece and realized that this was it...man I was hooked. It  wasn't long after that I made my first telescope purchase. A 6" Meade  Dobsonian telescope. I got a lot of use out of that old dob and learned a lot  about the night sky. Unfortunately it didn't take long and I had aperture fever. I wanted a bigger and  better telescope like so many of us do in this hobby. Not long after, I purchased  an 8" Meade Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. It produced great views of all the  beauty the night sky had to offer and served me well for many years to  come. Visual astronomy was great but I began to want to take pictures of my own like the ones I saw in magazines and books. So I  purchased a camera and off I went. I took a few shots of this and that. Although they weren't all that great, it  was a start. It wasn't until 2018 that I really started getting into  deep sky astrophotography. I upgraded my telescope rig to accommodate my  need for being able to take the images I really wanted. I strive to  make my images better as I go. I've learned a lot and continue to learn  with a little determination and a lot of help from  Youtube :) So come  with me on my journey, check out my images, drop me a line and let me  know what you think.
